Title: Bob Tingle (Shelbyville, Ind.) Rifles?

I will be buying a Bob Tingle halfstocked 45 caliber percussion tomorrow.

Are any of you familiar with him or his rifles?

I have read that he may have started building in the 1950's and passed away in the late 1970's. 

Any information about him and critiques of his rifles very appreciated.

Skychief, the Tingle was the second muzzleloader I owned.  I won a few prizes down at Friendship beef shoots and such with it.  Shot an awful lot of 49 4X targets with it  but I will own the nines.   Nice gun with a coil spring lock that was very quick.  I do not know who did Bob's barrels for him.  I would say it was and is a good starter gun.  I sold mine to an acquaintence and his grandkidds are still shooting it.

My wallet got a little lighter today and the Tingle rifle followed me home. ;D

It is an interesting rifle.   I hope someone can point me toward more information regarding Tingle and his rifles (dates of manufacture, numbers made, etc,etc).

My rifle is numbered 16XX.   It is wearing a 45 caliber barrel (not marked by any maker) and also has a 32 caliber Douglas that was made for it.
