I have heard that someone bought Jim Goodoien's barrel making equipment and is now making barrels. If true, does anyone have information on him? I did a search, but found nothing. Thanks.

Using my Google-fu I found this.
Charles Burton Burton Barrels , 250 S. Liddie Way, Morehead, KY 40351, (606)-780-7709 flintlockcalb50@hotmail.com Note: Bought John Goodeins equipment and is now producing barrels to any specifications.
Thanks anyway.

You must have missed some postings. He's posted several times here and included his info.

Yes, I have been gone for about 6 months. Perhaps I just need to sit back, listen and catch up... ;)

I have been meaning to post this and now seems like a good time. I just received the 1st of 3 barrels that I had Charles Burton make for me. These are custom profile and 48" long in 45 cal.
First let me say that I am very pleased with the barrel I received and here are the reasons why.
1. My barrel was very well packed. This was the best packed barrel that I have ever received, and I have received a few.
2. The breech plug was properly fitted.
3. The barrel matches the profile of an original barrel that I gave Charles the measurements on to a tee.
4. The barrel has round bottom rifling and looks fabulous.
5. Being a custom profile it took a while to get, but I got it in the time promissed.
So boys I really hated to say all this because I know you all will probably load him up with orders and that will make it harder for me to get my next order of barrels, and there will be a next order.
Charles thanks for a good product.

Thanks for the great information and an honest critique of what is often a "micro-scoped" business. I'll be in need of a special length barrel soon and therefore may be giving him a call.
THANKS AGAIN ... ;D

This information needs to be made into a "sticky" or a permanant place so it's not lost.

A linky could be placed in the Parts, Supplies and Services section of Weblinks. But that is really up to Dennis and Charles Burton.

I'll do that later when I have more time. That takes a little longer.
