After thorough drying, put the hot wax

What weight leather do you recommend?

TopKnot, For something the size of a ballbag, I'd suggest 4 to 5 oz learher.

That really turned out nice. What a great idea to leave some long thread for dipping in hot wax.

Are the top/bottom legs and tail simply glued together?

Sure is a beautiful finished product!
