Some if you may have known Phil Piburn "Frizzen". Phil was an accomplished pistol shooter at Friendship for 25 years and passed away a couple of days ago. Phil was from near Kansas City and made the trip every year. Thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.

That's really sad, Mark. Thanks for the notice.
"Frizzen" was a good man!
Condolences to his family and friends.
We are diminished, again.

Sorry to hear this. I sold him some gunflints and he was great to correspond with.

Sorry to hear of his death, never meet him! But always seemed to be a fine person. May all who mourn his death have God's peace.

A great competitor, but always so proud of his family members accomplishments. The pistol line at Friendship now needs a new shooter with large feet, because there are some big shoes to fill.

Phil was a great guy. He needed a Becky lock really bad once and he couldn't find one so I sold him one I had laying on the bench. He must have thanked me a dozen times or so. He loved to compete and was pretty good at photography.

Praying for the family and many friends who mourn this loss.
Phil was a great guy, and always willing to share with and assist those with less knowledge and experience.
Thanks Mark.

I never met him, but always enjoyed his posts here on ALR. He was ever ready to help. God rest his soul. Condolences to his family and friends.

Prayers sent up for his family's loss and for his friends.

I was fearing the worse for Phil. On another board he would post about percussion revolver matches he would attend and would always reply and always ready to answer questions. For months he hasn't responded and I felt something was wrong.
He was always saying how tired he was after a match.
May he rest in peace and may God Bless his heart.

Was sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Didn't know him personally but like others we exchanged comments from time to time on some of the Boards we both visited. He was a heck of a hand gunner for sure! He will be missed.

This may be the only time the word "miss" is used in conjunction with the name Phil Piburn.

I saw mention of his passing in the "Last Relay" section of Muzzle Blasts. I recognized the name as Frizzen, from whom I bought some .32 lead ball not so long ago.
Prayers for his family.

So sorry to hear of Phil’s passing, in my many years at Friendship I probably met him more than once I am one that just can’t remember names let alone put one with a face. Prayers for family and friends may he rest in peace.

He was very proud of his daughter and her shooting. Nice man.

I loved his posts, great shooter and contributer. If I remember, his wife or daughter was also quite the shooter. My thoughts and prayers to the family
