Somewhere I saw one similar made with a few washers with spacers, nuts, in-between. Mounted on a piece of all thread, bent like this one with a nut at both ends of the washers, same type handle. Obviously for round barrels but wondering if the washers could be filed to the needed Octagon size. Kind of why I asked the question over in building.

Tim,
Your scrapers are made by Gunline. I bought mine from Brownells.
-
It is my understanding the Gunline went out of business and the scrapers are no longer available.
-
Tim,
Just guessing but I would assume one of these ground to shape would work assuming that the grooves are cut deeper then the octagon. Basically a big broach either in a round or angular form. Tapered would work too.

If I were making that tool, I'd mount it to cut on the pull rather than the push. I have much better control on the pull cut. YMMV.

Those should work really well. The multiple cutting edges will help to reduce the tendency for chattering too.

There is a heck of a lot I don't know about these, but would a section of an octagonal rifle barrel, with grooves cut across each flat (using a mill) work? Using a stub or piece of junked barrel in 13/16", 7/8", 15/16", 1", etc?
