Title: Flintriflesmith
Post by: Mark Elliott on January 03, 2019, 06:25:51 PM
Flintriflesmith was Gary Brumfield's ALR profile name and is also the domain name of his very informative web site.   Gary passed away a few year ago; way too soon.   However his widow and his friends have maintained his site as a memorial and to preserve his valuable insight.

Gary worked for many years in the gunshop at Colonial Williamsburg under Wallace Gusler.   Eventually, Wallace moved on and Gary become the second master of the gunshop.   It was under Gary's leadership at the gunshop that it came to concentrate on the historically correct recreation of Virginia longrifles in the 18th century manner.    His practical scholarship, craftsmanship, and teaching contributed much to the current recreation of the American longrifle.    As builders of the American longrifle,  we owe a lot to Gary Brumfield.
