Morphy's has some very nice pieces up for auction at the end of April, RCA #43 included.  Good photos for any interested.

I saw that Eric, and have to agree the photos are excellent!  I need to go to the bank and see if they will mortgage my mule, lol.  What a wonderful rifle.

One thing that I find really interesting is that it appears to my eye that you can clearly see the origins of the later Northampton/Lehigh buttplates i.e. Neihart, Molls, Rupps etc. and the manner in which the shorter comb return was let into the comb rather than completely spanning it.  I'm not saying this is entirely done in this manner but it looks like somewhat of a bridge between the Oerter rifles and the Allentown area pieces of the 1790s (or late 1780s I guess in consideration of Neihart's 1787 dated rifle).

Awesome early rifle, whoever purchased it will have a great addition to their collection...and at 1/2 the price of a heavily restored Walker Colt ;-)

With the currently crunched down prices, this is a great time to add guns to your collection.
And not just pricey ones like this one, but especially the more moderately priced ones as well!

Yes, a friend just told me the William Henry rifle went for @ 10K, which I have to say is a very fair price for that rifle especially given the signature and that magnificent box.
