anyone heard from Mike Brooks lately?  I tried his email and it wasn't working for me--I was concerned about him and the flooding up his way.

I recently saw a posting from him on another site where he said that he was well above the flood stage and was high and dry. He is probably just too busy with his chickens........

All's well, thanks for worrying over me. I've lived within 3 miles of the Mississippi for 51 years as of today. Never had a problem with floods. (you gots to live on the bluff ;D)

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Glad to see you're here Mr Brooks.

How about showing the guys on this board some of your work??

By the way, hope to get started on that Carolina gun this weekend.

I figured you were smart enough to be on high ground, but alot of folks are saying this is the worst floods they've seen...maybe some are just young'ns.  When I was a lad the mighty Miss was a problem up and down the river.  In the old days it could get real wide and real deep.  Not too much high ground down here...anyway, glad you are safe.
