A rifle made by Andrew Klein or Kleindinst, I believe the same person. 50 calibre smoothbore,43.5 inches in length(barrel), pull is 13 inches, and is 7/8 from flat to flat. It has an incised C scoll to the rear of the cheek piece, the engraving is very nice. The last 12 inches of the stock has been repaired.
Comments:
Nice York rifle to add to the museum. Can't tell much about any possible restoration (consistent dark color makes me think it may have been worked on), except for the lock reconversion that is pretty obvious. It has nice York details in the box, guard, trigger, and incise carving, so it's a good educational addition to the museum.
