The WW balls I have used shot equal or better than lead with no change in the impact point.
Shooting a 10 shot group is an excellent way to learn how the load really works.
And another tip of the hat on flintlocking the elk.

First as a fellow elkaholic let me congratulate you on a fine animal and great hunting ethics. The trophy isnt in the size of the rack but in the over all experience of hunting a great animal with a primitive weapon. For years I hunted big bulls and then I drew a cow tag and my world changed. The difference in meat quality was unbelievable!!!!!!Now I'll take a cow over a big old bull any day of the week and a yearling calf is even better. Keep up the good work. FRJ

Thanks for the follow-up. We don't often hear "the rest of the story" detailing the performance of the ball, how far the animal went, etc. I guess the folks who had to trail an animal for a goodly while tend to leave out those bits. Congratulations on a clean and sportsmanlike hunt!
