So, your first gal is shot out no matter what you try she still shreds patches after near 70,000 rounds..  Barrel will be operated on and the rounded lands shaved by a bit more than a frog hair ( 2 thousandth) and assuming that cures her from shredding patches and giving you fits and fliers and she then coo0perates and shoots center,  Yeah long sentence) do you go back to her or use your new gal in the matches?  Have you had this happen?  It took me 23 years.   ;)

Great excuse to get another!  Then if the old squaw still shoots well . . . . . . .

Oh, I have no way of knowing how many rounds been thru my pet but she still shoots center when I do my part.  Did have to replace the touch hole liner a couple of years ago.

Have you tried lapping her? Maybe hot lapping to smooth out whatever is shredding the patches?

fine frog hairs, and you split them four ways.  recalibrate your fine tuner.

have you tried talking nice to her, knocking wood, and holding your mouth right?

i'm sure your competition has advice you should follow exactly to 180-degrees.  ;)
