John Bergmann Rifle
« on: April 24, 2013, 03:34:29 PM »
Anyone have a custom rifle made by John Bergmann.
I have seen a couple and like what I see.   I am considering having him build me a full stock Hawkin in 54 caliber.
Like to hear if you own one of his rifles.

I have a custom Southern Mountain style rifle by John Bergmann.  It is very well built with quality parts.

How long did you have to wait to get your rifle.   His work is really good quality and as you say he uses good parts.
I am going to send a deposit next week for a rifle.

I missed one at Track Of The Wolf by a few days.  I talked with John last night and he doesn't have any rifles in stock.  Guess I will have to order and wait for it.

I have ordered the rifle.   It will be a 50 caliber instead of 54 because he has a 50 caliber in stock with the length I want.  I may get the rifle this summer.  Looking forward to getting it.

I have had John build two kit rifles, and re-barrel another.  John's work is wonderful!  I especially like his method of browning barrels,  They have a textured surface (almost like sandblasted) and a deep chocolate color.  I highly recommend John.

I have owned a John Berrgman rifle since 1983. I saw his work in the 82 Dixie Black Powder Annual.

Mine took a few months to make ,but it was fine as he let me make payments!

I won the 1984 Buckhorn Skinners Squirel Rifle shoot .

Her name is Snipper ,36 cal. left handed flinter

I got my Burgmann Fullstock Hawken back in September.
It sure is a nice one with some pretty striped wood.  I like it a lot.
I been having medical issues so will not be able to hunt with it this fall.  Maybe next year I will be able to take it and get a Big Ole Buck.
I was able to get it in 54 caliber.   John added a front swivel and a back button so I can add a sling when needed.  I hope my grandson will like it as much as I do.
