is Ed Rayl still in business? I have a Ed Rayl barrel on my stick and  I'm thinking of getting another barrel for my rifle.

Ed Rayl is still in business but as far as I know has no E mail.
I had his phone number but it must be in my shop where I am
not.

 Terry,
The best time to get Ed is early in the morning and let the phone ring. He is a one man operation and with the equipment running doesn't always hear the phone.

yip,

The fact that the barrel is 20 years old shouldn't play into it when you consider the thousands of shooters that shoot guns every day with barrels older than that.  A lot of folks are shooting original rifles today with great success.  I have a rifle with a Douglas barrel on it that is around 40 years old, has at least 3,000 or more shots through it, and it shoots as good today as it did when it was new.  And that is very well indeed.  If your barrel is in good shape and is well cared for, it should last for many more years.  As they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Hi,
I'm sure Ed would appreciate the business. But as others have said, if your present barrel is good why get another.
Kind of like having a spare rectum, in case the one you're using fails.
Good luck & keep shootin'
Have a good day!
