I saw it. Mike, as usual, was the classic southern gentleman and showed Tim Farmer, the host of the show, a mouth-wateringly beautiful gun he had built for his daughter. Tim occasionally features traditional black powder shooters on his show. I haven't tried, but it may be possible to download the show on Kentucky Educational Television. The show is called Kentucky Afield.

Does anyone know how to post a link to this ?
I tried to find it , but didn't have any luck.  There is a " Kentucky Afield" show re Hershel House on You Tube, so I was hoping to find tis one there as well.

Hope this link works, click "watch online", it might take a minute to load, the interview starts at about 6:25. I'm in Ohio but try to watch KY Afield every Sunday morning on KET 54-3 and always enjoy it.

Good one. And I liked it that Mike said "fowling piece."  ;D

I've known Mike for some time. I'm proud to call him a friend. I love my Miller gun. It shoots like a laser beam. I have a local match to shoot the middle of August. I'm confident that if I do my part, my rifle will do the rest!

Guys - if you like Mike's work (and who wouldn't?) you might be interested to know that he has just completed a fantastic pistol based very closely on the famous Elisha Bull "Death or Victory" pistol that has been featured on the Contemporary Makers Blog Spot.  Mike has graciously donated his build for the CLA/CLF live auction that will be held this Friday afternoon in Lexington.  This piece is almost completely hand made - Mike even rifled and hand profiled the barrel to match the orginal.  He hand-made the silver mounts (formed and joined like the original - not cast) and and single set trigger, and a one of a kind lock that Mike heavily modified to match the original.  To my knowledge this is the first copy of this famous pistol that has ever been made in contemporary times.   As soon as we get some photos we will post them but make sure to check it out at the show this weekend!  In the meantime, here is the link to the original to give you an idea of how much character this great southern firearm has.....

Mike is not only a very talented gun maker. He is also a very nice guy. I had an opportunity to spend a little time with Mike and his lovely wife this spring at Friendship.
