And it smells great!
« on: September 16, 2019, 02:56:17 PM »
Here is something different. It doesn’t smell at all but people will still give you plenty of elbow room on the trail walk when you wear it. Made from vegetable tanned leather, dyed with vinegar/iron; with skunk hide on front and flap. Flap lined with wool broad cloth. Stitched with linen thread. Bag is about  7 1/4” tall by 9 1/4” at widest part. Strap is loom woven from either wool/linen or wool/cotton. I can’t remember, but looks like linen. There are two black horn buttons on the strap you could hang a powder horn strap or other accoutrements from.
 $150 shipped to conus.

I wonder how a cat  would work for this? There is a big white one here
that might be useful for such a project. ;D

About 40 years ago a young man from the cedar brakes out west of town came in the shop for a
Pound of powder. He was very proud to show off the hunting pouch he had just finished making out of a gray tabby house cat he had trapped. He commented that he did not like to waste a hide.

Btw, the skunk pouch is skookum! ;)

Your check is in the mail, sorry I did not respond earlier. I could not resist putting "Skunk Bag" in the memo line.

Thanks!
