Rupp, Beck, Shreckengost family
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:27:05 PM »
The attached photo from a 1915 family reunion in Armstrong County.  The Patriarch and wife at
center of photo are Wm Penn Rupp and Mary Boyle Rupp.  Wm P would have been born likely about 1840
and would have been the great grandson of Johann Frantz Rupp, the first Rupp to come to Armstrong County
about 1804.  Johann Frantz was the son of Ulrich Rupp.   Everyone in this photograph is either a Rupp, Beck or Shreckengost with the exception
of 3 Barnetts who were also early settlers here.  Of course you will recognize these names as all
being gunsmith families.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
