Hey hey hey! Be nice. As a bazilionth generation yankee I have a soft spot for the club butt. I built a Sitting Fox kit a couple years ago when he offered a longer barrel than the one mentioned here. It comes up fast and points superbly. True that from a historically correct standpoint mine and the kit being discussed are out in left field. But if you like the style and want a shooter, go for it and have fun.
On a visit to Old Deerfield a summer or two ago, touring the oldest houses there, I spied tucked in a dark corner a beat up old club butt. Unique to the region, they represent an interesting local variant that only lasted for a short time. But they dropped a lot of deer, duck, and things that went bump in the night too, ayuh.
