Beautiful rifle. The engraving is outstanding and I really like the breach treatment and barrel numbers.

Beautiful rifle !!  I love the swivels and have barrels ordered from Ed Rayl to build one.  I looked at David's kits, but don't have the money to go that route, but it sure did make a gorgeous rifle.  Is one barrel rifled and one smooth and what caliber are the barrels?  And as others have said, wonderful engraving.  Do you plan to hunt with it or target shoot? Thanks for sharing.

Before we jump to any conclusions, it's not really clear who built it.  Was it David, you, or someone else?

Thanks.

David Price designed and built the basic rifle.

I contracted out:
the carving
the engraving

Hi,
You can walk proud with that rifle!
Those barrels look mighty slim at the muzzle!
I would not want to get that rifle dirty.
I would probably admire it in my easy chair for a couple of months.
Thank you for showing it to us.

I handled a couple of David's rifles at Dixon's in '09, and in spite of their diminutive stature, I liked them for their handiness...an awesome hunting rifle!

Taylor,

I had to look up the word diminutive in the dictionary, and found that it means small.  I'll take that as a compliment, I worked very hard to keep my swivel rifles small and light  ( 8 1/2 LBS.)  You are correct, they are great hunting rifles but are not legal during muzzle loading season in many states including N.H. where I live.  I use it during regular rifle season.  Seems odd that a stainless steel, water proof, scoped sighted inline rifle is legal and my swivel rifle is not !   I did manage to shoot the N.H. State record Moose in 2010 , beating out the inlines which did make me smile a bit.

I have just designed and built a new model which I  call the hunter which is a much plainer  and even lighter rifle.  I will try to get a picture of it and post it here soon.  I will have it on display at Dixon's this coming year.  I have a new computer which works different than my old one and it is giving me a hard time.

Seems  this subject should be on gun building, not black powder shooting.  I almost missed it.

I see David Price and his swivel rifles 2-3 times a year at various venues, and am always amazed at these pieces.  In conversations with David, he seemed pleased that he could keep the weight low for a swivel breech. But more important, David's swivel mechanism is superb and his decoration is incredible.  I would love to own one.
