Help with Information about maker Gimbert

Hello everyone,
I have been reading on here for a few weeks, trying to solve a puzzle that I just can't seem to crack. I was hoping to get some insight on this rifle in the pictures below.  I am relatively new to longrifles, and when I expressed interest in them to a friend he said he used to collect them and had one he might want to sell.  Although I think it may be outside of my price range at this moment, I told him I would do some research on it and see what I could find out, figuring at least I would learn more about longrifles in the process.

What I do know: The makers name on the barrel is simply "Gimbert" from what I can tell.  Engraved on the underside of the barrel was "This Rifle was built for Jim Anderson 1985". The rifle was purchased somewhere in the late 90's early 2000's by my friend.  The lock seems to be a large Siler, the sideplate seems to be also still made.  Even to a novice like myself the scrollwork and wire work seems pretty well done, and combined with the fact it was made "for" someone makes me think that "Gimbert" had to have made several rifles before it.  I am guessing that the scrollwork and style of the rifle relate to a specific school, although I am not knowledgeable enough yet to determine which.

I had posted this rifle on another forum and haven't found a whole lot of information so I am hoping you folks might be able to help me out with information on this Gimbert fellow, or at least tell me about the rifle - IE its design cues and so forth, what the builder was thinking, what school certain features are from.  If it's allowed in the forum, or via PM, I am kinda also wondering what a fair price for a contemporary rifle like this would go for.

Thanks In advance,

Morgan

PS the pictures are really big, which is good for detail, but bad for threads so I am just going to post links to them
