siler lock plates

  question, i have a large Siler lock plate and was wondering if all Siler lock plates the same size? i plan to use this as template for inlaying a Siler lock.

They're all the same size within the realm of casting tolerances - I have found some lockplates may be 10-20 thousands larger or smaller than others.  I've done what you're describing and have had small gaps to fill when the lock arrived.  If your lock is on the way, its worth it to wait a few days for it to arrive.  Hope this helps,
