Antique Gun Charge in NJ Dropped
« on: February 27, 2015, 04:06:57 AM »
Just seen on the news, that NJ dropped charges against the man who had the  antique flintlock pistol  in his glove box. That is good news.

Having read the whole article and seeing that they were in possession of drugs and seeking to buy them, I am not as
sure I am glad the charges were dismissed.  Seems they weren't quite as innocent as some of the articles lead you to
think.  The media strikes again.  The article reads 72 year old teacher, not 72 year old drug buyer.

Actually, which story.  I've read the story about the innocent elderly retired school teacher and I've read the story about the drug seeking and possessing guys who were out hunting for more drugs.  This is why I try to reserve judgement to situations where I actually know what the heck is going on.  So which is it, you be your own judge.   Justice is somewhere in there.  Apparently the judge liked the innocent elderly schoolteacher idea better.

Either way, there absolutely should be NO charge for possessing a flintlock pistol. Thats about as 'infringed' upon as it gets. >:(

I don't think it is "getting so" -- I think we are there.
