Intro---new from Texas
« on: March 25, 2015, 04:49:45 PM »
Hi All,

Like to introduce myself, hope this is the right place to do it.

I'm a new guy here on your forum, I'm located in northeast Texas near Gilmer.
I'm not new to guns though, been around them for over 60 years and am still enjoying them!
I was an FFL and retired in 2005 and moved here from California (glad to get out!) It's a little hard selling guns in the SF bay area!
My wife and I bought 52 wooded acres and I can now shoot ANY time I want.

I haven't shot black powder in almost 15 years, but am looking forward to getting back to it.
Last I shot was a Zouave 58, and enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, I sold it and have regretted it since.
After shutting down my business, I still kept a Traditions Pennsylvania Flintlock 50 and a Lyman Trade Rifle--also 50, both as of now still NIB.

I am looking forward to shooting both as soon as I can find supplies.

I am going through Sulfur Springs, Greenville, McKinney to Denton (northeast Texas) tomorrow-----any suggestions for a muzzleloading shop in the area?

I live in an area where there is no black powder shop near me.
I use online sites that sell black powder supplies to get what I need.
Track of The Wolf is one I use.  http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Index.aspx

Lots of items turn up in the For Sale forum on this site.
Welcome to the forum.  One the best if you like black powder shooting.

You can buy most any of your bp supplies online.

Locally, I have at least a half dozen places where I can buy guns and gun supplies-- both modern and historic. I live in CA, but not in the Bay Area... I have always been able to buy guns and ammo here. Ironically, I think there is a company that manufactures ARs in the Bay Area… I forget his company name.

Welcome to ALR, bdsnooks.  You have a perfect situation going for you, now.  I get all my powder online is cases of 25#; much, much cheaper that way.  Other stuff?  Well, I get it as I happen to find it.
