What can y'all tell me about this charmer:

It's from the virtual museum here under unknown makers, iron hardware.

Here's the link: http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=4162.0

I keep going back to this rifle over and over and over.  Something about it has got me.

Does anyone here know the owner of this rifle or where she can be seen up close?

Thanks, Bill

I like the stark simplicity of this rifle. It's within my skill level to make and I'd call it an upgraded barn gun.

I absolutely agree Mr. Roller.  While I very much appreciate ornate, precision carving, inletting and engraving, I'm a nut for a well-executed schimmel or barn gun.

Maybe because it's within my skill level, as you say?

So. Does anyone here at the forum know where this rifle resides?

Ah ha! I will send the man a PM. Thanks a bunch. Haven't been 'round here long enough to know who's who and what's what.

Bill you got my invite to come on out and visit this ol rifle gun n others next time your on the west coast.  Come and drink some beers with me.

Robert, yeah I love this old bench n  I believe it to be a relic of old California.  As a younger man I worked  on an old Spanish land grant ranch, in Santa Ynez valley where it lived.....tim

Hey tim!  Thanks.  Don't get out to the left coast much anymore.  But, if a trip pops up, I'll be sure to let you know!!

Thanks a bunch.
