Anthony Bonnet
« on: September 11, 2015, 06:25:27 PM »
My friend picked up a great over under rifle marked A. Bonnet, Brookville PA, 1883 # 13 on the barrel.  Anthony Bonnet is a well documented maker
who was a gunsmith, violin maker, cabinet maker, art teacher and music teacher in Brookville PA.  I will try to post photos.  Russell Heriger did
a nice job researching this maker in his book on Clarion and Jefferson County gunsmiths.  A most interesting character, there is a photo of him
in his shop in the 1800s which is one of my favorite photographs relating to longrifles.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
