Allen & Hille New Orleans
« on: September 17, 2015, 11:00:24 PM »
Does anyone have any information on Allen & Hille . Were they located anywhere other than New Orleans. I found them listed there in 1853.  They made or handled (?) all types of guns. I found where they made custom pistols. Nothing said about other type guns.... Louie

In the 1853 Directory they were located at 89 Magazine St., New Orleans.

Allen (Joseph) & Hille (Charles) 1842-1859  as per American society of arms collectors.  They also say
Allen. Joseph 1838-1861 in the big easy.  Also Hille was only in N.O. during the period of their partnership.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

This is a related question about obscure New Orleans makers. Does anyone have any info. on,  "Cambell Stryker and Company, New Orleans." That is the mark on a pistol I recently saw.

Thanks ,
Bob
