You have a good eye PPatch.
Kibler produces fine kits but they all appear to be flinters.
Then I'd have to find somebody other than me to finish it out.
I sure like the lightweight look of those, I've been carrying 11 lb Sharps & Hawken long enough.

Here is one I shot on 11-30-16. Shot it through the heart at 40yds. It ran about 40-50yds. before realizing it was dead and crashing. Thought it was a doe until I turned it over to drag it out of the woods. The rifle was built by Boggis. Story is he was laid up with a broken leg and passed time by building the rifle. .50cal. with a 28in. tapered H&H barrel and Davis lock. Also has Bomar pistol sights There is a better picture of it on my blog. Nov 2015 post. www.bricestultzhisblog.blogspot.com Nothing like touching off a flinter after sundown. Like a flash bulb in your face for a few seconds.

My muzzleloader season started yesterday the 1st and ended this morning. A bit longer distance than I like to shoot but I had a solid rest and felt confident with the shot. 140 yards and dropped him where he stood with a shoulder shot. 80 grains FFF, .490 ball. Ball exited off side.

60 yds dbl lung ball split on first rib stopped under skin on off side..570 rb 90 gr 2f goex.187# dressed no body fat.

Shovelbuck thats some good shooting. On my hunting grounds 60 yds is a long shot so I doubt I could have made that long of a shot being I dont practice past 75 yds or so

Great shooting, Shovelbuck, and a nice buck. Most of my hunting was down in Georgia where I lived for 62 years. The bush is thick in the Deep South and, like wattie said, 60 yards is a long shot. I had one shot at 75 yards and two at around 100 yards. I had to hide behind hay bales in a large field to get the two 100s. IIRC, all others were 60 yards or under, sometimes well under.

wattlebuster and hanshi, thanks for the kind words. Our hunting here in central Ne. is river bottom with crop fields bordering it. This guy was heading across a rye field towards the timber where i intercepted him. This was the 50th shot through the gun since I built it last July and I'd only shot a few at 100 yds. but they were right on.
As a side note...........I'm really liking this Chambers deluxe Siler, 50 shots and I haven't touched the flint at all yet.

Finished out this year's deer season with a nice doe last night. 52 yards offhand, picking a hole through brush....

Rifle was built by Allen Martin, inspired by the John Schreit rifle. 46" Hoyt 1:56 swamped barrel of 62 caliber, Davis Colonial lock, 0.600 round ball (cast by moleeyes36), blue striped pillow ticking patch, bear fat/beeswax patch lube, 120gr 2F Goex, and for complete details, a Neolithics English flint in the cockjaws.

Complete pass through, although she was at an angle I didn't quite perceive. The entry looks perfect. Problem is, she was angled toward me a tad, and the exit was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the ribs. 175 yards or so of blood trailing later, I found her dead in a creek.

This one is my 3rd overall for the year (one with my bow, one with a bolt action, and now this one), and this will become dried "beef", sausage, and bologna. Well, except for the backstraps and loins. Those are never ground or processed, other than grilled to medium rare.

Third season with the rifle, and third deer to its credit.

Shot this one on Inauguration Day. Didn't think Donald would care. My Old Ugly rifle is great for tree stand hunting. Big sights and lightweight. Our season doesn't go out til Feb. 10.

I've gotten 7 deer with muzzleloaders now, and here are a couple pictures.
These are pictures of the biggest one I have gotten, and the one that I am most proud of that I got with a matchlock.
The big boy was with my .62 tulle at 35 yards, and the doe was with my .75 matchlock at 45 yards!

Sure feels good to drag a deer out taken with a rifle that was put together with your own hands...

My Mark Silver North Carolina rifle took a spike yesterday. Not as big as I hoped for but it will be some fine eating. .54 cal. using a .535 patched round ball lubed with a homemade concoction 1/2 TOW mink oil 1/2 coconut oil 100 grs. 3F. About forty yard shot. DRT. Next one will be much larger or it can pass safely by the stand. Just needed some meat.
