Griffith Baker 1809-?
« on: January 14, 2016, 05:13:31 PM »
Client saw my muzzleloader on the wall in my office and asked to see it.  Said his great great grandfather was a gunsmith
named Griffy Baker from Tunnelville, Armstrong County PA and that he hand forged barrels and built rifles from scratch there.
I can't find anything on him other than his ancestry tree shows his father as George Baker, Westmoreland County.  Regretfully,
Tunnelville has been obliterated by the Army Corp of Engineers for the Crooked Creek Dam.  Client said the family had one barrel
from the shop, but it was lost when their house burned down.  Interested if anyone has heard of him.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
