Just so I have it correctly the first shoot in this new 2016 match is May 1-31.  I got confused (easily done these days) with the old posts that also have the rules but different dates / months.  I understand everything except the dates / months. ???

Yes Dave, the 1st shoot is May 1 - 31, then it will be followed with; July, September, November, January, March, and of course May once again.

I updated the link info by editing it, it should read the correct months now.

Enjoy and have fun.

Well I guess I will start it out.  Not a stellar performance but am still working up my loads.  Second time I shot this gun.  Should have gone with my hunting gun the 58 cal.

Name: Dave Marsh
Match: 50 yards
Rifle: .45 Flint Long Rifle
Sights: Fixed
Score: 26

Since the weather was nice this morning, and Dave was good enough to get us started off, I headed to the Range and got my 50 yard target shot;

Name: Candle Snuffer
Match: 50 yards
Rifle: .45 Flintlock - Dickert Style Long Rifle
Sights: Fixed (V - Notch)
Score: 36

(Offhand - 5, 3, 1, 3, 3 = 15 pts) (Off Chunk - 5, 5, 3, 5, 3 = 21 pts)

I too feel I should have done better, my 3's were pretty scattered, and of course I got the "1" square - couldn't leave that out,,,lol...

Great to see some targets are being shot, and scores submitted.  I'm trying to get out to get my targets shot...

The weather was nice enough to permit me to shoot 2 postal matches, one for another forum and this one, whose score was higher.

Name:  Maven/Paul Brasky
Match:  50 yd.
Rifle:    Isaac Haines/Chambers, .54cal. (.530" patched RB)
Sights: Fixed, U-notch rear
Score: 34 (19 pts offhand; 15 chunk)

Oddly enough, the rifle shoots 6" lower from a rest than it does offhand, even when resting it at the same place (where the ramrod enters the stock) as I do offhand.

yes yes yes

swamped with work but I'm going give try to submit something.  Can shoot 50, but don't have anything longer available just yet.  Here's why:

Because it may look "flat" as a treetop image, here's area topo:

and that's the way I like it.  8)

Those large clear areas aren't mine!  mine are the tiny spots, plus some wooded!  :P

Nothin' wrong with 50 yard shootin' Wade. That's just about where I like to take my big game shots if'n I can get close enough out here where I live, which I usually can when I hunt the draws.  :)

Thanks to those who took part in our May 2016 (Bi-Monthly) shooting match. Three of us entered scores from 50 yards in May,,, not a bad start. We'll go at it again in July 2016 with your choice of shooting 50, 100, or 200 yards. NOTE: if a person wants to enter a score in July for all the distances, this is okay. I believe I may try for 50 and 100 yards in July... Thanks again for taking part.

Yes no, for sure next time.  Too much mowing and catching up going on, zero shots fired lately.  ::)

now to go chase snakes (and ticks) through woods...or "survey" as others call it. ;)
