Does anyone know of maker named I believe name J O Whisnut or near that ( I have part timers). A friend of a friend has 4 old musket and this is the only one with a name on it. It is percussion half stock, but from the looks I believe and my gunsmith thinks it was a flint and has been shortened. I only have one picture but I don't think I should post it.. The elderly lady who owns them had them brought to us instead of coming to look at them. Anyway if anyone has info on this maker I would appreciate your help.
