CLA Show Goodies Part 2
« on: August 25, 2016, 06:16:36 PM »
The second rifle is by Mike McHugh.  It is an excellent copy of a well known Schuler rifle.  .54 cal., sterling silver inlays, brass wire inlay, engraved furniture and inlays, and incised carving.  Beautiful rifle.

I really enjoyed the show.  It was great to see all those incredible items in one place and to talk to the builders and makers.  Definitely worth the trip.

Ok, Molly, your turn.  And anybody else that wants to join in!

Your PC probably has a slot that accepts the digital card from your camera. Most PC made in the last 5-7 years do. Plug it in the slot and the card shows up as a separate drive, look under "Computer" on your program menu. Much easier to work with than the software that comes with most camera's.

Thank you MR. G.  Unfortunately this "device" has no removable card.  HOWEVER I have one photo taken "pre-purchase" with the maker.  Mine (ours/his) is the third from the top with the silver addition on the patch box.  This rifle took me out of the hunt on the Davis auction rifle.

36 cal 44 inch Rice bbl.  Must be an A profile.  So well done.  "Graceful" to borrow a word from another favored maker.  I am DELIGHTED with it!!

Oh yes, it 's worth mentioning that the rifle on the very bottom has a WOODEN trigger guard carved by Mr. Turpin.  I think it is walnut on either side with a strip of lighter (maple?) in the center.  Very detailed.  AMAZING!!

I have come to know may builders and have rifles made by many as well.  Mr. Turpin is a class man as good as any there is.  Come to think of it just about everyone involved in or with the culture are first class people.
