Nathan Stephenson Faber Style Rifle
« on: October 30, 2016, 02:28:08 AM »
Nathan built this rifle for me a little less than a year ago. It is not an exact copy, but has several of the "Faber Rifle" features along with some features from some of the other rifles listed in Shumway's  "Rifles of Colonial America Vol 2" listed as "Rifles of Early Southern Origin".  It has a 40 inch, 47 caliber Bill Large barrel, and an L&R Queen Anne lock.  Nathan is a great guy to deal with, and kept me updated on its progress on almost a daily basis.

Thats a good looking rifle. I have seen lots of his guns on TOTW site but other than that have never heard of him. I do like most his guns though
Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning

He did a great job on that rifle. Beautiful stock!!!!

With that Bill Large barrel should be a great shooter also.  Did you provide him with that barrel or did he have it already?

I bought the barrel from an older gentleman a few years ago.

Lots to like there.  Very believable gun of the period.  Having seen and handled the Faber rifle it's more slender than one might expect.

He does not have a website that I know of, but here is now a member on here. If your interested in seeing some of his other work you could just shoot him a PM and I am sure he would be happy to send some other pics. He built a rifle for me several years ago and I unfortunately had to sell after the loss of a job.
