A few years ago I bought a Blue Ridge for I think was under $400. I was surprised when I got the gun. There was no sign of it being a Blue Ridge. It was in a Pedersoli Frontier box and didn't say Cabelas anywhere on the box or on the gun. It was also browned instead of blued like the Blue Ridge.

I didn't complain and it turned out to be a good gun. It slapped my cheek pretty bad though. I went back to the plains style guns. I find them more comfortable to shoot.

The Blue Ridge and Frontier are the same rifle, as I understand it.

Cabelas has the Blue Ridge in flintlock on sale currently for $549  in both .50 and .54... free shipping to the local store of your choice.

It is the same gun, but I assumed the Blue Ridge would say it on the gun, or say Cabelas at least. Not even on the box.

Cabelas doesn't make anything, but they sure like putting their name on what they sell.

Now that I think back mine was a .45. I bought it for deer and was upset to find out I couldn't use it in Colorado for deer with a PRB. Ball was too light.

Interesting, I see they are putting the front sight pointed the correct way, now. Good for them.

I have been waiting on the blue ridge to go on sale.  I am going tomorrow to look/purchase it.
It is an hour drive each way.  The rifle is made /marked by Pedersoli??
Thanks

Lee44, yes, there should be a Pedersoli maker mark.  They are fine rifles for introductory purposes.  I've never really heard anything bad.  My only thought is that they feel a bit miniature compared to a custom build.   But I do find the buttstock to be comfortable when shouldered.   The Cabela's website shows both .50 and .54 flintlock Blue Ridge rifles on sale for $549.

Be careful of the bluing. It scratches easily.

Ironically, I just sold off a Pedersoli Kentucky flintlock.  There's a certain .40 flintlock SMR (Mike Davis build) that the Pedersoli is funding... :)

Thanks for the info.  It is for my granddaughters to shoot.  They love BP shooting.  My 1861 Springfield is too much for the to handle.  It is also a repo by DP.
