Recoil would be non-issue.  My .50 Cal chunk setup is lightweight at ~15#, and 100 gr. Goex 2f is barely noticeable.  That gun could probably be loaded to 150 gr. and not hurt a thing.  Carrying it around on the other hand...

Reckon I  would be using the kids as gun layers, you just stay at the but end, 1 kid rams a charge home, next kid, the patched ball, the third kid, spikes you around or wedges the muzzle till you are ok, then all you do is squeeze off !! @!*% that is some rifle gun !! reckon it would make the down under fun police have a big old coniption fit !! Will be most interested on a range report , Merry Christmas to you all from Down Under !!

...WOW...great gun...!!! ...Did you bring her to the Alabama show..??...I just now noticed that she uses a converted Flint lock...!!! ...THAT is a nice touch, too....!!! ;D ;D ;D

...I could only attend Bama show on Sat.  ...sorry I missed you..... I plan on going up to Lake Cumberland on Feb. 3&4....Please bring her up to JimTown for the shoot.....Boys will love her up there...!!!

In one post you say it is 8'2" overall and also that it has an 8' barrel ?? I have a fowler with a 6' barrel that is 7'4" overall.

Amazing. I have a Bowers/Rayl chunk gun too, but as has been said, I can't show it here, well, because, you know. My barrel is .54cal x 54" long. Shooting it is a workout cuz it weighs 33lbs. What's the weight on this 8-footer?
