Winter Muzzledoaders Montana (video)
« on: January 15, 2017, 08:44:06 PM »
Enjoyed a day of walking and shooting in the woods of Montana. The shoot was followed by dutch oven navy beans and ham hocks.  Hope you enjoy the footage and music.

Looks like a lot of fun and the snow really puts the "icing on the cake"! I enjoyed the video - it reminds me of when I was winter bow hunting only I was by myself. Thanks for posting.

Had to have been loads of fun; but a bit cold for my thin blood.

No frost bite.  Just plenty of good times.  After the shooting we gathered around a fire where a Dutch oven pot was stewing up some navy beans, carrots, onion and ham hocks. The beans with the home made loaf of cranberry nut bread made by another gentleman made for some good grub.  It was a wonderful Saturday.  That is why I love this hobby.  Good men, good grub, good guns and great times!

Now, just which town is "Somewhere" Montana close to?

I had friends in Polson and relatives near Hungry Horse ("Friendliest Dam Town in the West").  8)

Sure do miss them mountains ...    ;)

Just a tad North of there - you're in the right region ;)

That is a well shot video.  It is great to see that we of The Great White North are not the only ones who thrive in winter.

This is from last spring.  Familiar faces and rifles.  Good times - best of times.

Where are you?!  Come on up to Montana.  We would welcome your company and make sure you had a seat at the fire!  Let me know if you pass through and we can make some introductions friend.

That is a well shot video.  It is great to see that we of The Great White North are not the only ones who thrive in winter.

First one there so I snowshoed in and got the fire going.  Actually, only about 16" of snow but settled and a consistency like sand.  You fellers up in Prince George must've filtered some out for yourselves and only sent the scraps down south to the Flathead.  ;)

Nice video, Danny. I had analmyopia that day, so stayed home by the fire. In other words, I couldn't see my butt out there at the river when it was that cold!
