That is one fascinating piece of design engineering.  I've heard of them for years, but never saw photos large enough to reveal the breech design.  Pretty cool thinking for its day!

I think so.   I got my unfired Narragansett ferguson a few years ago on gunbroker with bayonet etc  for 2300$ and that was a steal.
