JP Beck - Chambers Golden Age Lock?
« on: March 18, 2017, 10:40:54 PM »
I was looking at a photo of an original JP Beck this week.  The lock looked familiar.  I thumbed through Jim Chambers lock and noticed the "Golden Age" looks like a dead ringer.  I wonder if it was patterned on an original Beck, or was that just typical of the times?   Jim?

Best wishes and God Bless,   Marc

Nope, not copied from any particular old lock, just my idea of what a nice looking golden age lock should look like.  But, it does work well on J.P.Beck rifles.

That lock is my pick of the perfect lock for a longrifle.  I love it.

It is, just possibly, actually a Chambers Golden Age lock. Every so often I see pictures of originals with locks or lock parts that look pretty familiar, and I always figure that the lock was replaced, reconverted, or restored with new parts.
