Those are good look'n Eric, well done. Did you use Pinking Shears to cut the binding?

 Thanks, Tim

Very NICE work -- My question on the first bag is about the double buckle arrangement -- was it done for "looks" or does it serve a real purpose?

The answer is varying degrees of both form and function....

Excellent work!  That's everything I'd want in a bag, and then some.

Those are two very nice bags. I was wondering what weight leather did you use on the second bag? The leather looks to be very soft and supple Thanks,   JZ

Thank you very much. The leather of the second bag is a 3/4 oz thickness, vegetable tanned deer hide. It was a deer I took last season and brought to a family owned tannery near me that uses chestnut tannins instead of the South American wood tannins the bigger or more well known tanneries use. The leather is very pale and natural looking when finished and lacks that pink color and waxy exterior of typical vegetable tanned leather. It has some challenges to work with effectively but has some great qualities too. The suppleness and softness might be more related to it being deer skin though.
