Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Mike,
My thoughts as well.  They sure are tempting.  If only I didn't have so many other projects.  I will keep fighting the urge.

Great job Bill.  Lovely brown on the barrel, and well finished wood.  They make into a stellar rifle.

Would you mind sharing your finish materials/techniques? I can still stand to learn a thing or two. Or three.

Very nice job. Do you have any tips for the rest of us beginning our Kibler southern mountain rifles. I have been studying the past comments and it is beneficial to learn the pitfalls and remedies before we fall into them. Thanks and your rifle looks fantastic.

I don't see how anyone could fault that.  It should be a super companion in the woods or at the range.  I too like the "rubbed back" finish on the metal, and the combination you used on the wood resulted in a very rich, warm look.  Write that formula down for later work.  :-)   Thumb's up.  Best wishes,   Marc
