Simple small pouch
« on: April 02, 2017, 11:56:27 PM »
He's a small pouch that I made from the drawings in Jim's Web book.   it's about 7"wide  5.5" deep.
The horn is a simple banded horn made by Glenn Sutt.   I can't remember who made the strap.

I like it Chris. You're turning into quite the diverse craftsman.

It looks to me, Tim, that it's attached to the bag strap.  I like bags about that size and all mine are very similar in size.

That's what I thought at first but look at the Second Pic, the bag itself has a Leather Strap with no horn. The horn looks like it has a woven strap with Leather retainers. Could be just the way I'm looking at it or it could be Two bags???

Sorry for the confusion.   Yes the horn is on a separate strap.  I thought that they looked good together when I was taking pictures.   I'll try to get other pictures of just the bag.

Years ago I got to handle a nice little two compartment pouch a local gentleman had in his collection. It was made of light deer hide, likely brain tanned, with a braided buckskin cord in place of a strap. The interesting thing about the bag was it was all one piece. The strip of buckskin was turned up in the front to make the front of the bag, then pulled up in the center to make the center divider, then went back down and over the top with a piece long enough to make the back, and the front flap. The two pouches were sewn up separately until the got to th last three inches or so, where they were all sewn together. It appeared to have been used for a shotgun, or fouler.
