British Officers Gorget
« on: April 17, 2017, 07:32:41 PM »
I've recently had a bunch of requests to make British Officers Gorgets with a King George Cypher. This weekend I gave it a try and here is my first example. In addition to silver these were often done in brass with gold plating.Several British units had gorgets in  silver and in addition many silver gorgets such as these were gifted to Native chiefs(Joseph brant was given one in the 1750's).The gorget on the right is an original that is post Rev War most likely my work is on the left. The pre rev war and earlier gorgets were slightly larger and a slightly different for form so I adjusted my pattern accordingly for the earlier version.

That's really nice Mitch.  Your skills just keep getting better and better.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
