Thanks for posting that Art. Beautiful work!
I had the pleasure of meeting Louie at the Alabama show and enjoyed every minute of our conversation.

Seeing this pistol at auction is certainly no pleasure.  As it belonged to a very good friend who died last fall.  Thanks for your comments......Louie Parker

Did one of the ALR boys buy Louie's pistol? The opening bid blew me out of contention.

Very impressive piece!

Louie,
Is it a copy of any particular maker or style?

Sorry for the circumstance of its coming to auction.

Its after the work of Wiley Higgins  who worked on Georgia. There are four known pistols by Wiley. I  used all four to design this pistol. I took a little of each and made one....Louie

I don't know of a location where they are all shown together. These photos I gathered up from one place or another. One is in the Hermitage and is said to have been found there. another is in a museum somewhere in Texas, The one labeled Dumont collection in now in a New York collection. The one with the silver overlaid barrel I owned until a couple of  years ago. Higgins was a man who danced to his own drum. His work was copied a bit. But I think he did his own thing. Thanks for putting those together Louie.  Enjoyed seeing them.  Added them to my personal library.

Thanks Louie,

Those are great to see.

Your version certainly stacks up well amongst them.

Louie, having had the opportunity to personally study a number of Wiley Higgins rifles and pistols, I sometimes wonder if you ever worked in his shop. Then I remind myself that you aren't THAT old.
