To add to what Mike said, this lock isn't in current production as far as I can tell. So, parts are going to be an issue. And, if you shoot it much at all, you will need parts. If you are going to put a lot of time into reworking this lock, why not get a Siler kit, and build a good lock.

Why cant you just buy a left hand siler kit.I think they run around 115.00.They are not to bad putting together and you can get parts for it if you need to.
