Old family horn

This came from my wife's family without any details. Her family settled in Iowa after stops in Pennsylvania, Ohio, then finally Iowa. Their trek started in early 1700's and ended in mid 1800's so could have been picked up any place along the way in terms of time and location. It has been scraped so you can see remaining powder by holding up to sun.

A classic! I have several that fit the same mold. Tools. Not decorations. Pure Americana. Love it.

Treebeard, That`s cool !!   People put the fancy ones up early on. It`s always nice to see a surviving " working horn"    Thanks for posting!   Nate
