Grease /Tallow hole
« on: June 24, 2017, 04:21:59 AM »
What do folks use in a tallow hole that won`t end up all over the stock? If this is considered a shooting question I understand. I`m more interested in a recipe that won`t run everywhere more than anything. If the topic needs moved I understand.  Thanks Nate

I just filled one a couple of days ago. I used about 3 parts beeswax to 1 part bear oil/grease. Melted in old aluminium Dr Pepper can (cut in half). Have used Crisco/beeswax with same ratio.

More wax, less oil to stiffen, depending on your local conditions.
