Thanks for the interest in our new kit.  We've been working on it, but still have a ways to go.  Developing these takes a great deal of time.  I've been working on masters and specing out parts.  Next will come wax molds and a lot of programing.

This kit will be a Colonial period rifle with brass mounts, a round faced English lock a 43" barrel in .50 and .54 calibers and optional sliding wood box.

I feel pretty good about so far and think it's going to be a kick ass rifle.

After this rifle, there will be more projects to come.  Maybe a full blown English fowling piece, perhaps a Lehigh rifle and maybe a "Golden Age" rifle as well.  Time will tell...  Any thoughts?

Besides developing new projects, we're continually pushing forward trying to iprove our product even more.  We're proud of it's quality and how it's set a new standard for muzzleloading kits, but also know it can be better.  We have ideas to make production more efficient on our end and assembly even easier.   Everything takes time, but we'll get there...

Thaks so much for all the support.  We've been at this only a year and a half or so and at the outset, we really didn't know what to expect.  The reception has far exceeded what we ever imagined.  So thanks to all of our customers and those who have contributed to the endeavor.

In the upcoming days, I'll try to add a few pictures of some of the hardware models I've been making and a few other things pertaining to the new kit.

Thanks again,
Jim

Will you keep the current kit in the lineup when the new kit comes out?

Jim, I'd love to see a fowling piece and even a first model Brown Bess or other military arms.

Glad to see more kits coming. My advice, if you want it, is to offer kits that other companies don't.

I'm hoping not for kits, but components.  Butt plates and trigger guards in 70/30 brass, not that "yellow bronze" garbage.

I suggest a Hawken.     There is a void in the market there.  The Hawken craze has died down in the past 30-years.  I think it is because they are such a pain to build and correct parts are hard to find.  I wonder if you could 3D scan a real original rifle and produce identical parts in a kit.  An authentically designed Hawken that could be assembled in a weekend would be amazing.  It would help to rekindle interest in the period.  I believe there lots of buck skinners and living history guys who would snap them up.

My vote is for the Golden Age rifle, but I'll be enjoying whatever comes out, including this Colonial period large bore.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I think a 1st or 2nd model  Brown Bess kit would be very interesting.

I know my view is minor but I see a Bess kit hitting different target markets like shooters, gun collectors and re-enactors who want something more than a Miroku or Pedersoli Bess.

I've seen lots of "hawken styled" kits from the low budget seller such as Traditions, Dixie & others.  Why do you consider them more difficult to build than the other styles?

Sorry for the hijack.  Look forward to whatever you come up with Jim!

I would definitely be interested in a Brown Bess or an authentic Hawken. I consider both of those rifles above my current skill set for the kits currently out there.
