A Little Different Screw Tip Horn

 This horn is in the style of a horn shown on page 242 of Dr.Jay Hopkins' book Bone Tipped & Banded Horns. The thoughts of its origin being the Northern Valley of Virginia. A very Beautiful and unique horn, I have never seen one like it before, I thank him for the book, can’t say enough Good about it, it’s all about education.
 It is about 16 ¼” around the outside curve and 14 tip to tip. The Walnut Butt is about 2 ¾”, it is held in by Six metal pins and hollowed out about 3/4s its length. The Collar is horn and threaded ½-13 as is the horn tip. The stopper is rudimentary and left for the owner to reshape. All colored with a mix of Dyes and, yes…Brown shoe polish.

Beautiful horn; I like it.  But not having a lathe of any sort, that level of shaping the tip is well beyond me.  Mine are ugly but adequate.  That horn IS eye candy.
