New Springs

New springs. Broken mainspring on left, rough forgings on right. Replacement and a spare. Some file work begun.

Looking pretty stout there. Nice job on the bends.  Did you use a jig or freehand it?

I inked around the old spring profile on a block of wood for pattern and bent free hand. I think next time I will make up a jig. It would be easier. There will be some thinning down with file before they are ready to heat treat.
