Bent musket

Interesting.  Hanging on the wall of a VFW somewhere.

Any ideas how this was done?  I wouldn't think any amount of soaking would allow the stick to bend like that.

I suspect it was Elmer Fudd's rifle and he ran into Bugs Bunny.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Joe:  there's no 'fixin' that barrel, apart from heating it orange and forging it straight.  forget the wood.  Perhaps this firearm was a direct hit of a cannon ball....just a guess.

There's a musket in similar condition at the Springfield Armory. It was struck by lightening while  being carried on guard duty and bent into a "U" shape. The soldier survived the strike, as I recall.

Rubber prop gun?

Yeah, most likely.  Some company in England I think, makes these rubber guns. WWI & WWII stuff.

Looks like the stock somehow bent too. I'm betting those who mentioned rubber prop guns are right on target.
