Jim Chambers rifle for sale

I have no interest in this but some of you might. I don't even know the seller and make no claims, but saw it browsing the N-SSA forums.

Though I cannot see it, I wonder if it is a Jim Chambers gun or a Chambers kit gun assembled and finished by someone else.  John, is it a masterpiece and signed by Jim Chambers?

I sent a PM and asked that precise question.

I asked for a pic of his signature on the barrel flat.

I'll let you know what I find out.

I should have asked if he knew if it was a kit gun or not.

Sorry, I don't know about the rifle. I'm just a member of the NSSA Board so I was able to copy and post some of the photos here.

If this rifle has a Rice barrel is probably is one of our kits, not one I actually made.  The only 38" barreled rifle I've made recently is the one I made for Barbie, and it's still in my safe.
I'd love to see photos of it.  From those I could tell right away if it is one I made or one someone made from one of our kits.

Jim,

The photos at the top of the thread are the rifle in question.

Can you tell us if you personally made it, or if it was a kit that was built by someone else?

I have not heard back from the seller about my question yet.

If he can send a pic with your signature on the barrel, I'll buy it.

If not, I'll pass.

Martin

John Gross posted the pics.

I am not sure why some people cannot see them.

They show up fine on my computer, I am running Apple MacOS 10.12.6

I registered on their site.  All it took was a name and password plus an email.

I am using Safari, but I learned computers when FORTRAN was the language, so I have no idea either.

Jim Chambers didn't build that gun. ;)

If you look at the original ad, he says "from Jim Chambers" not "by Jim Chambers".  Could be by anyone.

The seller told me it was built by Jack Hansberry from the Isaac Haines kit.

Certainly looks like one of our Isaac Haines kits, but definitely not carved and finished by me personally.
Glad the mystery has been solved.
Jack has built dozens of our kits, and this one looks like a really nice job by him.
