Runar,

I have always disliked fitting a cock to a tumbler, and you have shown me a very simple way to get it done correctly!!

Thanks!
So very simple, marking as you did on the inside. Why this did not occur to me I know not!
Thank you again, and very crisp and lovely work you are doing.

Re the dog catch;
Yes, in Sweden they were used much longer than most countries.  I have a Germanic lock with a similar threaded hole, but in my case the hole was for a tapered pin, so the tumbler could be set with less contact, to shorten and lighten the pull. It being on a rifle.

Best wishes
Richard.

What was the "dog catch" purpose?  Was it a safety of sorts that prevented the cock from going forward?

Yeah it is a pretty ingenious and simple mechanism, if your halfcock notch or sear tip lets go the cock cannot drop. In order to release it from it's positively locked state you need to pull it back to full cock.   I wonder why the idea did not persist? Must be a reason? Just not needed once lockmakers got good enough?

Dog catch started out with English lock and the horizontal scear, It held the cock as a safety without relying on the scear.
It was more or less a carry-over when used on the newer "French" flock...hardly needed, but one advantage was that the scear was often disengaged, so the dog held the cock between half and full cock.  That way pulling trigger couldn't hurt the scear or tumbler.

Hi Guys! And thank you! The dog cath has also a bad thing. If the shooter have a loose cath it can swing to the cock and stopp it when fire! No good in a fight :( So it was a to good safety!
The BB is now ready for the shooting range
